Pandora Ditches PS3 and Xbox 360 Apps For a Special HTML5 TV Interface

Pandora Ditches PS3 and Xbox 360 Apps For a Special HTML5 TV Interface

Starting today, you don't need to use a standalone application to access Pandora through your Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. The company has built a new HTML5 home for its services that's specially tailored for your TV. Simply point your console's browser to tv.pandora.com, login, and you'll be good to go.

The move on Pandora's part might seem trivial, but the decision to embrace open standards over developing native apps is actually important as there are more and more different devices users can choose to connect to their TVs. Why develop a different app for each set-top-box and console on the market when you can deliver a single product that works the same across platforms? [Pandora]
